Overview
Deskman is an advanced security solution for administrators and IT managers. But it's really easy to use — anyone can use it.
In order to protect your system, you have plenty of different options and combinations. With Deskman you decide the level of security the system needs.
How it Works
Check the restrictions that you need from the different tabs. Then click Apply. That's it. Here are some remarks:
- Using Presets : If you are lost, start by loading one of the included presets — make all the changes you need and click Apply to activate restrictions
- Protecting Desktop Icons : Check the Lock Icons option in the desktop section (main tab) to protect desktop icons and files from tampering
- Blocking Applications : Execute the applications that you want to be allowed, then click the Block Applications box in the Apps tab to block unknown applications that may be executed — right-click to add folders
- Blocking Websites : Enable Web Filtering to stop users from browsing any websites except for the ones you allow, based on keywords
- Securing the System : As long as Deskman is running, your restrictions will be applied. Press the hotkey,
Ctrl-Shift-F12
by default, to open Deskman at any time - Reverting Changes : Deskman persistently enforces selected restrictions, system-wide. To remove all restrictions click the Clear button. Or press the Maintenance Key to remove restrictions temporarily
